As the holidays draw closer, there’s a good chance you have travel on your mind. But how does Roadside Assistance factor in? Is it just a luxury, or something more? We’ll let you decide. Here’s what you need to know about the Direct Auto Insurance Roadside Assistance program.
Is Roadside Assistance required in my state?
Having Roadside Assistance is not a state minimum car insurance requirement, unlike Bodily Injury Liability or Property Damage Liability (required in many states). But if you want to be sure you’ll have help available when you encounter a problem on the road, Roadside Assistance could be a necessity for you.
What about the price of Roadside Assistance?
You might be surprised to learn that a Roadside Assistance plan could actually pay for itself after a single use. In all 13 states that Direct serves, the price of getting our Roadside Assistance plan is less than $1 per day. And that’s for up to as many as three vehicles!
What does Roadside Assistance include?
The Direct Auto Insurance Roadside Assistance plan includes 24-hour emergency towing, gas and essential fluid delivery, lost key services, lockout services, tire service, mechanical help, and map services.
When would I ever need Roadside Assistance?
Let’s say you’re on the highway, hours from home, when you notice your low tire pressure light is on. You pull over to the side of the road and check out all your tires. Turns out there’s a nail stuck in the tread of one of them. You don’t have a spare with you, so you call 1-877-GO-DIRECT and request roadside assistance. A tow truck arrives to take you to the nearest auto shop so you can get your tire patched or replaced and get back on the road.
