Claire Morgan Direct Auto Insurance AgentStroll into the Direct Auto store in Lauderhill, FL and you’ll see the smiling face of Claire Morgan, one of Direct’s veteran insurance agents. As a longtime employee, Claire has quite a bit of wisdom to offer new agents, as well as those of us that are simply curious about the industry and how it works. Hoping to catch a glimpse of her experience with Direct, we sat down with Claire and asked her a few questions. Here’s what everyday life at Direct looks like for Claire.

Q: What attracted you to Direct in the first place?

Claire: Having been with the company for so long, I’ve found that they’re very family-oriented and really care about their employees. I wouldn’t have stayed so long if they weren’t so great!

Q: What part of your job do you find most rewarding?

Claire: What’s most rewarding is when my customers are happy with my service! And that’s something I try to make happen every day and in every interaction. It may sound cheesy, but the happiness of my customers really is important to me.

Q: Tell me about the area/city you work in. What do you enjoy about the city? What would you tell a first-time visitor?

Claire: I’ve spent time in many parts of Florida and have lived here since 1971, but Lauderhill is just gorgeous. While the rest of the country is covered by snow and frost, I’m down here in a t-shirt enjoying the sunshine! I love that there are so many family owned businesses and different cultures here too. That’s not something you see everywhere in the country.

Q: What’s one word you would use to describe Direct and why?

Claire: Awesome! No doubt about it. They treat their employees like everyone is #1! For example, when my son was born the regional supervisor at the time bought and personally delivered a gift for my son. It was so thoughtful. It totally blew me away that he would take the time to personally go shopping for my son.

Then, a couple of years ago my daughter had emergency appendix surgery and I had to leave the office immediately. My managers were so understanding and caring. They had no problem with me taking the time to be with my family.

On a more work-related note, I’ve also had to call agents across the country, and each time I speak with one of them I feel like I’m talking to someone I’ve known forever. That kind of familiarity and connection with your coworkers doesn’t happen everywhere.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not at work? What do you do for fun?

Claire: When I’m not at our Direct Auto store, I’m spending time with my family or relaxing. I enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, Dolphins games with my son, and visiting my daughter and grandson in Ocala, Florida.

We loved chatting with Claire in our Lauderhill, FL store. If you’re interested in joining a team like hers, check out career opportunities at Direct Auto and learn more about working for an insurance company.
