How to Make Spicy Hot Chicken Strips [VIDEO]

Head’s up, fowl fanatics! September marks National Chicken Month, a special time to appreciate the many ways we enjoy the familiar, delicious taste of chicken — whether it’s battered, grilled, baked, smoked, pulled, or else. To celebrate, we’re indulging in a spicy twist on a long-time favorite: hot chicken tenders. You might have also heard it called Nashville Hot Chicken. How to Make: Spicy Hot Chicken Strips
Ingredients:
- 1 bread loaf
- 1.5 lb. chicken strips or tenderloins
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 3 tbsp. hot sauce
- 2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and hot sauce together. In a third bowl, mix together the cayenne pepper, chili powder, and cornmeal.
- Dip the chicken in the flour bowl first, then in the egg bowl. Lastly, coat the chicken with cornmeal and place on the baking sheet.
- Bake the strips for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden.
